Sterilization Protocol
Sterilization Protocols
When you are in our care, your health, safety and smile are our biggest concerns. We are dedicated to taking the proper precautions to protect our patients and staff. At King Endodontics, we believe we can only provide the highest standard of endodontic care in an environment that fits those standards, which is why we implemented numerous protocols to keep you healthy.
Safety is always the priority
Our caring staff is passionate about a safe and healthy work environment. We follow procedures that are recommended by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Our office is the best it can be with these protocols implemented into daily operations.
We practice the following to ensure the safest office environment possible:
- Requiring the use of gloves and face masks for clients and staff
- Ensuring disinfectant hand soap and sinks are available throughout the office
- Using disposable materials when possible
- Cleaning countertops and surfaces with EPA-approved chemical disinfectants
- Sterilizing equipment before and after each use
Our team actively follows these practices. As soon as you enter our office, you will see clinical staff wearing disposable gloves and masks while they work. They also sanitize exam rooms before, during and after your visit.
Nearly all the materials we use during appointments are disposable to ensure your safety. Face shields, masks, gloves, gowns and more are disposable. For instruments that are not disposable, we follow a strict process to ensure that proper dental sterilization is achieved:
- Clean – All instruments are thoroughly cleaned using ultrasonic cleaners, which make sure that all bacteria, germs, and other debris are completely removed.
- Package – Once clean, instruments are wrapped in FDA-compliant packaging prior to sterilization.
- Sterilization – Once safely packaged, instruments are sterilized using FDA-approved dental autoclave sterilizers.
- Disinfect – After every use, our machines and surfaces are thoroughly disinfected using EPA-approved cleaners.
